چکیده
Abstract Reducing the friction force between commercial archwire and bracket during orthodontic treatment in general dental practice has attracted worldwide interest. An investigation on wear behaviors of uncoated carbon film coated stainless steel archwires running against brackets was systematically conducted. The films were prepared at substrate bias voltages from +5 to +50 V using an electron cyclotron resonance plasma sputtering system. With increasing voltage, local microstructures evolved amorphous graphene nanocrystallites. Both static stable coefficients archwire-bracket contacts sliding dry wet (artificial saliva) conditions decreased with deposition archwires. Low coefficient 0.12 achieved artificial saliva environment for sheets embedded (GSEC) archwire. Deterioration behavior GSEC occurred after immersion solution different periods before test. However, moderate less than 0.30 sustained 30 days periods. low mechanism is clarified be formation salivary adsorbed layer containing tribofilm contact interfaces. robust performances make them good candidates clinical applications.

Comparison of Mechanical Properties between Different Orthodontic Stainless Steel Archwires
Introduction: The Damon system recommended the use of revolutionary, hightechnology Damon edgewise 0.019” x 0.025” orthodontic stainless steel archwires (OSSA) for major mechanics and finishing and claimed that this new archwires offer greater efficiency during orthodontic treatment. No study has been carried out to compare this relatively new archwires to other popular OSSA already in the mark...

Introduction: The aim of this study was to assess the galvanic behavior of different bracket and archwire combinations that are commonly used in orthodontic treatments. Methods: Three types of orthodontic archwires with a diameter of 0.016×0.022 inch and 80 standard edgewise maxillary central incisor brackets were selected. Three groups consisted of different wire-bracket couples and one group ...

OBJECTIVES The commonly used Nickel-Titanium (NiTi) archwires in orthodontic treatment are often exposed to fluoride-containing mouthwashes. The aim of this in-vitro study was to evaluate and compare the corrosion resistance of three commercially available NiTi archwires exposed to 0.05 wt% and 0.2 wt% fluoride mouthwashes. MATERIALS AND METHODS Three different types of NiTi archwires, 0.016″...
